The New York Liberty are the WNBA Champions after a long and difficult season. Today, a victory parade and ceremony was held in Lower Manhattan in the Canyon of Heroes to honor these amazing athletes.
It has been a great year for the league , with record-breaking attendance at all WNBA games, as well as record-breaking viewership. Game 5 of the WNBA Finals averaged an incredible 2.15 million viewers, becoming the largest audience for a finals game since 1999.
So congratulations, New York — we finally have a winning sports team again! And women’s sports are finally gaining well-deserved popularity and recognition.
