(Updated 01/22/2022)
I’m a native New Yorker and a photographer. One of my favorite things to do is to walk around and capture what’s happening on the streets of the city.
I have used a variety of cameras and lenses over the years. Right now my favorite camera and lens combination is an old Nikon D5100 with an even older Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM lens. There is something magical about the images that combination of camera and lens produces.
I also use an old Olympus EM-10 if I want to travel light. For the EM-10 I have a bunch of different lenses, but use a Lumix 14mm f/2.5 lens with it most of the time, which gives me a 28mm field-of-view. I feel the 28mm field of view is great for general photography, it’s neither “too tight” nor too wide. I also use a Lumix 20mm f/1.7, a Lumix 25mm f/1.7, an Olympus 45mm f/1.8, and a Lumix 45-200mm zoom.
As you can see, my camera gear is nothing fancy. It’s old and inexpensive. But it has worked well for me over the years.
I do a lot of post-processing work in Photoshop, and I think I like editing more than being out there and taking pictures. Especially in the winter.
